This is the best Hot you can make, and it’s dead simple. Holiday hangover? Here’s the cure!

Here’s a link to the glass I’m using in this video:

The Hot Toddy is a cocktail staple, an ancient from the earliest days of mixology, it’s actual origin is probably impossible to pin down. It’s nothing more than a simple mixture of hot water, some kind of spirit and some sugars. Some folks, like myself, add in a lemon twist and a dash or two of bitters. If you’re using the right spirit, it can be absolute heaven in a glass. So, allow me to humbly submit what I believe to be the perfect, absolute best, hot toddy.

Hot Toddy
2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Whisk(e)y (I’m using Monkey Shoulder)
.5 oz. -or- 15 ml. Simple Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
4 oz. -or- 120 ml. near boiling water
Garnish with a lemon twist

I promise you’ll enjoy this drink. If you like the show, I hope you’ll subscribe and turn on notifications!
